The University partners with Zipcar to offer car sharing services to our campus as another sustainable transportation option. This way, students who do not own, or only need a personal vehicle occasionally, can consider using Zipcar rather than bringing a car to campus. Zipcar members can use all cars on our campus, in the local community and nationwide, anywhere in the Zipcar system for as little as $8.50 per hour (gas and insurance included).
Zipcar offers all members of Student Government a free membership and $35 in driving credits.
If you would like to offer this benefit to the members of Student Government, please share this link:

Community-University Collaborations in Research series organized by the Workforce development and Community engagement core at the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. These workshops are open for everyone, students, fellows, faculty, staff as well as the general community of Western New York.
This series aims to increase research collaborations at UB and the WNY community to reduce health disparities and generate a more inclusive atmosphere at UB and in healthcare.
The workshop is in the Lafayette International High school. The students there are all either Refugees, Immigrants or Latinos, and they would love to have some students from UB provide mentorship if possible.
Please find attached the pdf of the series flyer as well as the flyer for inaugural workshop on the Refugee-Immigrant-Latino communities. The flyers also have registration links which are hosted on EventBrite as public events. We encourage registration but also welcome walk-ins. We are hoping for about a 100 attendees.
Due to the fact that the University has failed to provide a contract for accounting services with FSA as part of their mandatory transition to a new fiscal agent for all student governments, the GSA has been forced to cancel all events planned for the month of September. We will continue to work as diligently as possible to rectify the situation and resume offering funding and programs to our students as soon as possible. We apologize for these delays and hope to have everything fully operationally by October.
The GSA is currently hiring two Hourly Editors for the 2019-2020 academic year. A description of the position is attached. If you are interested in the posting, please email the required materials listed to the GSA Vice President, Connor Walters, at gsa-vicepresident@buffalo.edu by Friday, August 9th in order to be considered. Applicants must be currently enrolled graduate students who have paid their mandatory student activity fee and must be able to serve for the full term of the position.
SBI’s General Counsel, Joshua R. Lippes, has filed suit against the University for their decision to dissolve SBI. A NY State Supreme Court Judge has issued a temporary restraining order preventing implementation of the University’s determinations and rescinded any actions that have already been implemented.
We will continue to update you throughout this process.
Thank you for your continued support!
Check out the great events that GSA has to offer this summer! *Paid for by your Mandatory Student Activity Fee.*
Thank you for your support for Sub Board I, Inc. (“SBI”). We wanted update you on the fight to save SBI. Since UB’s arbitrary decision to close SBI, we have seen an outpour of support from thousands of students, alumni, and community members. This support has resulted in a petition, rallies, and correspondence telling the University to rethink their decision.
Regrettably, the University has not wavered from their choice. In fact, our efforts have only emboldened their actions and resulted in coercive threats in an effort to force submission by the student governments and student body.
We cannot thank you enough for the support we have received so far, but the fight continues. We are again calling for your assistance. Since the University will not listen to you, please contact our politicians and elicit their help. Tell them your desire to save SBI, your experience with SBI, ask them to contact the UB President and SUNY Chancellor, ask them to fight for SBI. The University may not listen to our requests, but they will hear from our government representatives.
We realize this call to action is not an easy request, but every phone call you make will be one step closer. Let our leaders literally hear our voices. Every phone call you make will have a significant effect on our cause to save SBI. Please call the following politicians.
