Call for Volunteers ~ Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Open House

On Saturday, April 21, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus will host the 4th annual open house.  Middle and high school students and their families will visit various entities on the BNMC, including UB, Roswell Park, Kaleida Health, UNYTS, Hauptman Woodward, and more.  Each location has an activity or demonstration planned for participants.  We are looking for volunteers to help guide people around the campus and within buildings.  They will not act as “tour guides,” as it is a self-guided tour, but will be placed around the campus to answer questions about how to get to certain locations.  Within buildings, we also need a few volunteers to stand in lobbies to open doors and lead people to elevators.

Adjunct Instructors for the UB Capstone

The UB Curriculum is now accepting applications for adjunct instructors for AY 2018-19 to teach the UB Capstone (UBC 399, the culminating course of the UB Curriculum program). The UB Capstone is a holistic reflection of a student’s learning experiences through the creation of the Capstone ePortfolio.  Through completion of this requirement, students develop the skills to integrate, apply and synthesize knowledge. This integrative approach to learning encourages students to connect concepts across a broad range of disciplines and experiences, bringing it all together—with purpose.

The role of our Capstone Instructors is to mentor and guide students through the creation of the Capstone ePortfolio.  UBC 399 is taught online through the Course Management System in Digication, UB’s ePortfolio platform.  The detailed posting is attached.  Application materials (cover letter and CV) should be sent to ubcurriculum@buffalo.edu, and these will be reviewed on a rolling basis through July 31, 2018.
