UB EERI is organizing the 2^nd Annual Earthquake Engineering Symposium.  The keynote presentation will be given by Dr. Laura N. Lowes, Civil Engineering Department Chair at the University of Washington, on developing tools for modeling the non-linear response of structural systems subjected to severe loading.  There will also be a student research competition where students are welcome to present research topics on earthquake engineering or any other experience/topics related to earthquakes in general.  Other activities include a tour of the UB Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL).  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Students from universities across Northeastern US and Canada are also invited.
