Dr. R. Douglas Fields is a multidisciplinary scientist researching at the National Institute of Health.  He is Chief of the Nervous System Development and Plasticity Section in the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Editor-in-Chief of Neuron Glia Biology, and author of the books Beyond the Synapse and The Other Brain.  The NeuroGSA has invited Dr. Fields to give a seminar at UB on his recent research, which encompasses cellular and systems neurosciences in the investigation of molecular mechanisms of neural development.  We have asked him to have lunch and dinner with students in order to give them the extraordinary opportunity to talk to him in an informal setting.
