The Chemical & Biological Departments annual symposium in which all graduate students present a poster, two students give an oral presentation, and we have one keynote speaker from industry. The department chooses both student and keynote speakers. These events have been very successful in the past with approx. 250 attendees consisting of people from industry, friends of the department, and several alumni. This year we wanted to extend our invitation to several other departments namely, Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry as our department has several collaborations with them. The department is also hosting an alumni mixer/social after the symposium which will hopefully draw in a larger crowd of alumni to the symposium. We are expecting over 300 attendees this year.
