French Connection Spring Dinner

March 11, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Bonjour à tous,

We are excited to invite you to our spring dinner, on Tuesday March 11 at 7pm in 904 Clemens. The theme of the dinner is “Francophone Cuisines of the Americas.” We would like to take you on a culinary adventure throughout the different French speaking areas of the American continents.

From the French Caribbean, we will be serving accras, a fish fritter, a perfect snack/appetizer.

Moving to Louisiana, a nice serving of Jambalaya, a typical dish from the state, should transport you to the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Then, from the quite unknown French Guyana, Bami will be served. This dish, originally from Indonesia, was brought by Indonesian immigrants, and since then, became a staple of French Guyana’s culinary tradition.

And finally, to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, from Quebec, the pouding chomeur, their own version of bread pudding, infused with maple syrup.

The event is open to everyone, but quantities of food might be limited, as all these dishes are prepared by our members. Feel free to bring a dish or drink to share with everyone, and you can refer to the poster to see pictures of the different dishes.

We hope to see you next Tuesday,
