Michael Kicey, Liaison Librarian for History
Dr. Kicey is an invaluable resource for any graduate student in History at UB who needs help searching and navigating library resources for research. He regularly conducts instruction sessions to inform incoming and current students on database content and search strategies; he constantly acquires new resources, including books, databases, and software, on behalf of History students and faculty at all levels; and he conducts regular, in-depth research consultation meetings by appointment to help History students and faculty discover resources at UB and beyond, as well as strategize long-term and in-depth research projects. Kicey is a classically trained, broad-based humanist with expertise in multiple languages and humanities disciplines, and holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan. He has published in peer-reviewed journals in philology, contemporary literary theory, and political theory, and also serves as liaison librarian to the Departments of Classics, Comparative Literature, and Philosophy.
