Welcome to the Social Development Lab at the University at Buffalo!

Research in the Social Development Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University at Buffalo, SUNY uses a developmental psychopathology orientation to study various subtypes of aggressive behavior, peer victimization, and other social behaviors across development.

Specifically, our research team and collaborators investigate the development of forms (relational and physical) and functions (proactive and reactive) of aggression and peer victimization in early and middle childhood in a number of recent studies.  As part of these projects, we also study the formation of friendships, peer relationships, prosocial behavior, and adjustment problems in young children.  We have also developed intervention efforts for aggressive behavior in early childhood.
