Assist on the NSF-funded project Embodied Responsive Teaching in Undergraduate Physics. Using an EMCA-based approach, we are investigating how physics instructors elicit and are responsive to physics students’ multimodally shared ideas (looking especially at gesture!) in an active, collaborative classroom, and how this impacts learning over time. This position is best for students with experience and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
Application deadline: February 1, 2026
To ensure priority consideration for funding, please investigate the EIS lab page, become familiar with our publications and research, and get in touch with Dr. Virginia J. Flood (vflood@buffalo.edu) to explore your fit for the EIS Lab before applying.
