Templates

GSE Course Template – To facilitate organization, and to maintain consistency across GSE courses, we have created a course template that provides you with a basic course structure to assist you in developing your course. Use of the course template is optional, but the built-in features will save you time in course development.

GSE Syllabus Template (Summer ’18Fall ’18) – This template is updated with each new semester and includes important GSE and UB policy and contact information.

Course Schedule Template (Summer ’18Fall ’18) – This template is updated with each semester and helps you to break down your course into weekly units to provide an “at-a-glance” view for your students.

GSE Banners for UBlearns – Consider uploading your departmental banner into your UBlearns course for visual consistency across programs.

Course Development

Open SUNY Course Quality Review (OSCQR) rubric – After developing a course for online delivery, or prior to the start of a new semester, you should consider taking some time to reflect on the quality of your course and to make any necessary changes. A course evaluation rubric is a useful tool for assessing the effectiveness of your course design and organization. OSCQR is designed to guide online faculty to use research-based effective practices and standards to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of their online course design, rather than as an online course evaluation, or quality assurance procedure.

Accessibility Checklist – The document is made up of two tables (Text Elements and Multimedia Elements) that identify a content item, offer a brief description when necessary, and then offers a checklist of basic tasks that when performed (or if already met) will ensure for a universally accessible piece of content.

Course Review & Refresh Support – This is a collection of support material and resources that were gathered and created through previous Course Review & Refreshes. These support topics were among the most common recommendations across the 30+ GSE courses that have been reviewed and refreshed to date.

Web-based Tools and Software Support – GSE Instructional Design & Development (GSE IDD) has gathered and created resources pertaining to a number of web-based tools and software packages used by our faculty members in their teaching.
