UBlearns Workshop/Webinar Series

The Office of Instructional Design & Development will be hosting a series of workshops that can be attended in person or virtually via webinar. Bring your laptop and work along with us to immediately begin practicing and using the tools covered.

Navigation and Functionality Overview

Interested in teaching online or would you like a refresher on where all your tools and options can be found in UBlearns? Get an introduction to or refresher on UBlearns and the basic functionality and navigation including the Course Menu, Control Panel, and more. We will review basic functionality, best practices, and answer specific questions from those in attendance.

Building Content and Organization

Can your students easily locate all the content of your course? Learn, review, and share some options and best practices when it comes to building and organizing your course content. We will tour the GSE Course Template and review the benefits it can offer you in terms of streamlining the course development process.

Are you using the best tool to meet your instructional needs? Learn, review and share some of the best ways to utilize and leverage the built-in course tools including; Announcements, Discussions, Journals, Wiki, Blogs, and more.

Assessments

Are you getting what you need out of your assessments? Learn and review what assessment options are available and how UBlearns can expedite grading and feedback when possible. Choosing the right right form of assessment and leveraging all the available options can make the facilitation of the assessment much easier. Learn to create a new test, add an existing test, and explore the options available to offer the desired experience for the learners and you as the instructor.

Grade Center

Are you keeping your grade book offline or is the Grade Center not offering what you need to meet your instructional needs? Learn and review how to leverage available Grade Center tools to improve the timeliness and accuracy of grades and feedback. Share your successes and your struggles in using the Grade Center and learn from what other faculty members are already using.

All sessions will be recorded and posted here for those who are unable to attend either session in person or virtually.

End of Semester Procedures

Discuss and review the tasks that will need to be done the week(s) before the class ends, after the course ends, after the grading window ends, and in preparation to teach the course again in a future semester.
