The Biomedical Engineering Society is dedicated to advancing its members’ careers in all of the multi-disciplinary aspects of medicine. As such, the University at Buffalo student chapter is proud to partner with companies that help students gain real-world experience during their studies. These opportunities build students’ resumes and let them earn money while they complete their coursework.

UB BMES offers students freelance work as writers through the medical company Inside First Aid. Inside First Aid is an online company founded by a UB biomedical engineering graduate, Peter Oldani, that aims to provide its readers with comprehensive, easy-to-understand information related to emergency medicine, home healthcare, and other out-of-hospital areas of medicine.

Students research and write about a diverse range of products in all areas of medicine from automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to stethoscopes, to electric wheelchairs.
