Groundhog Day Cookout and Alumni Day

When: Friday, February 2nd at 11:30-1:30 pm
Where: Cooke Hall, NE core (Brick core area next to Cooke 127B classroom and Geology Office)
What: Department of Geology’s 35th Annual Groundhog Day Cookout! Come out and eat some hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips and cookies with your favorite professors.

Alumni Day
When: Friday, February 2nd from 11 am – 5 pm
Schedule:
11:00 – 12 – Dino Zack career development session with graduate students (other alumni can join) in C435
Lab tour – Thomas, Csatho, and Volcanology labs
12-1:30 – Groundhog Day BBQ
1:00-2:00 – Dino Zack career development session with undergraduate students (other alumni can join) in C435 (or 434).
2:00-3:15 – Department overview by Prof. Csatho followed by 10-15 minute research presentations from early career faculty members (C434)

· Elizabeth Thomas – Climate studies
· Erasmus Oware – Environmental research
· Margaret Jadamec – Computational geodynamics/tectonics
3:15-3:30 – open discussion and break
3:30-5:00 – poster session with graduate and undergrad students (hallway outside C434)
