Who is eligible to apply?

Undergraduates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply, however any undergraduate currently enrolled at a college or university is eligible to apply.

Does the workshop require me to have prior experience in computing, programming, or research?

No, however an interest in these topics will be helpful.

Is there a fee to apply and attend?

There is no fee required since the workshop has been generously funded by Google’s exploreCSR grant.

When will I hear back about my admission status?

Application decisions will be sent out by March 15, 2021.

How will the workshop be conducted and do I need to download any software beforehand?

The workshop sessions will be conducted over Zoom. Attendees need to have access to a computer with a working video camera and mic. Some of the materials that will be used include PatternRadio, data mining software, and whale song recordings provided by NOAA, but you will be notified of any software that needs to be downloaded before the workshop begins.
