Electrical Engineering Graduate Student Association

CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I: Name of the Organization

Section 1: The name of this organization will be know as Electrical Engineering Graduate Student Association, hereinafter referred to as “EEGSA”.

ARTICLE: II: Mission and Purpose

Section 1: The purpose of EEGSA shall be to represent the graduate student body of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.

Section 2: EEGSA shall abide by the State University of New York policies and procedures as well as the University at Buffalo policies and procedures.

ARTICLE III: Qualifications of Membership

Section 1: Membership in EEGSA shall be open to any graduate students and outstanding senior students of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.

Section 2: Active membership shall be determined by being affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.

Section 3: Membership in EEGSA shall be open to all students without regard of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other classification protected by law, so that all members at all times are treated with dignity and respect.

ARTICLE IV: Officers

Section 1: The officers shall consist a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. All officers must be a graduate student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.

Section 2: The President shall be the chief executive of the club/organization, maintain operation procedures, serve as the liaison for the club/organization with University at Buffalo administration, call and preside over meetings, take care that this constitution and the policies and procedures at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York are faithfully executed.

Section 3: The Vice President shall assist the President with all administrative duties and assume those duties in the President’s absence.

Section 4: The Treasurer shall receive and distribute EEGSA funds upon the authorization of the President, in accordance with the SUNY Mandatory Student Activity Fee and the financial rules and regulations of the University at Buffalo, prepare the annual budget, sign requisitions for club and organization funds.

Section 5: The Secretary shall keep accurate and detailed records of all meetings and affairs are responsible for all correspondence with EEGSA members, coordinate preparation and distribution of handouts, flyers and publications.

Section 6: The elected officers will form the Executive Board.

Section 7: All elected officers must be in good academic standing at the University at Buffalo. Overall GPA must be a 3.0 or higher.

Section 8: Any officer may be removed from the Executive Board for failure to perform his/her duties. This can include failure to carry out the responsibilities of that office or for any action that violates the mission of EEGSA.

ARTICLE V: Elections

Section 1: The President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary shall be elected by the members of the EEGSA to serve one year term. Annual elections shall be held in the beginning of the Fall semester. The officers shall be elected by means of a ballot. The term of office for all officers shall begin after the elections, and end on the next election date.

Section 2: Nominations of candidates for officer positions shall be self nomination through a survey online provides by the previous officers. Nominees for office positions must be EEGSA members.

ARTICLE VI: Meeting

Section 1: Regular meeting shall be held at least once a month. Meetings will be called by the President.

Section 2: Quorum shall consist of fifty percent plus one of club membership. Quorum is needed for official votes to take place.

ARTICLE VII: Amendments

Section 1: Amendments to this constitution shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of the members present at two consecutive meetings at which the amendment is read.

  • What will the next generation of stadium hospitality look like, for sports and cultural events?
  • How can we remake the experience to be both revolutionary and convenient for all guests and fans?
  • What innovations would create a truly immersive experience?

 

The scope of this Hackathon includes everything you would find at a stadium event for sports or entertainment … retail, food and beverage, technology, restaurants, catering, fan and guest engagement, interactive experiences, and amenities.
