The YCL group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Buffalo is interested in electrochemistry, catalysis and inorganic material. We are driven by both a fundamental interest in reaction mechanisms, and a practical need for better industrial chemical processes.

The electrochemical transformation of small molecule is the core interest of our group. We use a combination of electroanalytical techniques (CV, EIS, etc.), spectroscopic characterization (Raman, IR, XAS), and a variety of material synthesis methods to investigate the selective conversion of readily-available feedstocks into highly functionalized and value-added chemicals.
