2023 Conference Recap<\/strong> <\/mark><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The 4th annual Western New York Undergraduate Psychology Conference<\/strong> was held in-person on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 in Davis Hall on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus. There were 34 student posters and 8 oral presentations. Over 120 students, faculty, and guests from 13 different institutions (Adelphi University, Alfred University, Buffalo State University, Canisius College, Daemen University, D\u2019Youville University, Hilbert College, Houghton University, Le Moyne College, Rochester Institute of Technology, SUNY Empire State College, SUNY Fredonia, and the University at Buffalo) were in attendance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brittany Merrill, PhD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Merrill\u2019s program of research aims to improve the reach, developmental sustainability, and long-term effectiveness of behavioral treatment for childhood attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Her published work spans many topics regarding childhood ADHD including psychopathology, comorbidity, longitudinal outcomes, and evidence-based treatment. She is specifically interested in supporting parents and families via examining parenting behavior and parent stress, tailoring treatments to target key impairments such as academics, and leveraging technology to improve the reach and effectiveness of behavioral treatments. Dr. Merrill\u2019s current, federally-funded research examines parent\/child interaction patterns using mobile sensing data and leverages this data to develop personalized, adaptive treatments for children and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the WNY Undergraduate Psychology Conference<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of this conference is to provide an affordable and convenient opportunity for undergraduate psychology students to present their scientific findings at a research meeting. This conference is specifically designed to be open and inviting to undergraduate students and is a great transition to larger national conventions. Additionally, this conference provides an opportunity for local WNY students and faculty to meet and network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration is free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation formats<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students can give one of two types of presentations: 1) a poster presentation<\/strong> or 2) an oral presentation<\/strong> (10 minute maximum). Presenters must indicate which presentation format they would prefer in their abstract submission. For more details on the presentation formats and requirements, visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)<\/span><\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadlines<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline for abstract submissions has past. We are no long accepting submissions. General registration is also closed. Due to limited space, registration is required<\/em> in order to attend the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
