Members from the Koury Lab have been hard at work optimizing protocols for water sampling around the Western New York Area. These samples then are used as input into state of the art genetic sequencing instruments called Oxford Nanopore Sequencers.
Initial sequence analysis as a proof of principle demonstrates detection of diverse taxonomies in the various water samples.
