Lab Director<\/strong>: Dr. Hollen Reischer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am a clinical psychologist who uses mixed methods to study the lived experiences of adults across the lifespan. I am passionate about understanding and promoting psychological health and flourishing, especially through engaging with the narratives of individuals and communities who have been underserved by psychological science and healthcare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I earned my PhD from Northwestern University in 2022, working under the mentorship of Dr. Dan McAdams, who developed the theory of narrative identity. I completed my clinical internship at the Edward Hines Veterans Affairs Hospital, where I focused on palliative care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been at the University at Buffalo since 2022. I also serve on the Erie County Medical Ethics Committee. In my free time, I love to explore Buffalo\u2019s parks, thrift stores, and farmers markets with my family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am from Buffalo, NY, and I am in my junior year at University at Buffalo. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends and family, making art, and spending time with animals. I aspire to go to graduate school to obtain my PhD in Clinical Psychology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Noor Al-Khaouli<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I graduated in May 2025 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. During my time in this lab, I was awarded the 2024 APA SUPER Fellowship and the 2025 DEI Grant from the University at Buffalo Department of Psychology. I also had the privilege of presenting my research at the MPA Psychology Conference in Chicago. I presently work as a part-time Research Assistant at Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I successfully defended my Psychology honors thesis during my undergraduate studies, which deepened my motivation to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. My research interests center on promoting mental health equity and empowering marginalized groups. Beyond research, I am dedicated to advancing educational equity and serve as the Director of Community Engagement for UB Homework Helpers, a student-led initiative that provides free remote tutoring for K\u201312 students in the Buffalo Public School System.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Julianne Wu<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hi! I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at UB. Before coming to UB, I worked as a lab coordinator at Stony Brook University. I\u2019m passionate about using different methodological and statistical approaches to uncover the underlying structure, dynamics, and mechanisms of the self-experience, personality, and psychopathology from different lenses. In my free time, you can find me doing all things yogic, dancing, walking in nature, and exploring philosophy and different perspectives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bidushi Bhowmik<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2024 with my B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Health and Human Services. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Reischer in 2023 and 2024, and Dr. Reischer was my mentor\/advisor for my senior honors thesis, “Trauma History and the Process of Creating an Ethical Will.” I joined her lab because I found the research subject of narrative identity within the older adult demographic to be quite interesting. I am now completing my M.S.\/C.A.S. in School Psychology at SUNY Plattsburgh to become a school psychologist. It was truly a wonderful experience being a part of Dr. Reischer’s lab and working with my fellow research assistants. I hope to continue with my contribution to the research world within the field of psychology and will forever be grateful for the memories and lessons I gathered from being a part of this lab!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kristen Johnson<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I am a psychology graduate student at the University of Chicago and alumnus of Northwestern University’s post-baccalaureate program in psychology. In addition to working with Dr. Reischer since 2021, I have worked with Dr. Dan McAdams’ Study of Lives Research Group and Dr. Molly Losh\u2019s Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Lab, both at Northwestern. I am interested in the intersections of narrative identity, human development, and neurodiversity. Formerly, I worked in Chicago as a theatre and film director, so I have always been passionate about studying narrative and the human experience from a multi-modal perspective. When not conducting research or working with neurodiverse children, I love to garden, cook, and travel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hola and Pura Vida! I am from Buffalo, NY, and recently graduated with degrees in psychology and statistics from UB! In the summer of 2024, I was blessed enough to study abroad in Costa Rica for two months, where I completed an internship teaching English to elementary school students. I also visited my father in Ecuador for first time! My hobbies are researching cross-cultural psychology, working out, and doing art.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am a Ph.D. student in the Philosophy Department at the University at Buffalo.  My area of specialization is in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and my philosophical inquiry is often informed by formal modeling.  My research interests include palliative care, decision making at the end-of-life, human nature, game theory, and feminist philosophy.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
