Kathleen Parks, PhD

Dr. Parks’ is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Psychology at the University of Buffalo (UB). She runs the behavioral risk lab located on the north campus in Park Hall. Her research focuses on risks for negative consequences associated with alcohol and other drug use (AOD) among emerging adults, including college populations. Negative consequences that her research focuses on include: AOD use and abuse, sexual aggression, physical aggression, and risky sexual behavior. Her training is largely based in observations of behavior, thus, most of her research includes a focus on risky behavior (e.g., heavy drinking, drinking context). Her recent research and that of her students has focused on prevention of negative consequences associated with AODs and risk awareness. A list of representative publications is included on the lab website.
