The UB Motor Speech Disorders Laboratory offers an introductory hands-on experience for undergraduate students with an interest in learning more about scientific research. Students have opportunities to work in the lab alongside of graduate students and to utilize speech acoustic software (e.g. TF32, Praat). Students meet on a weekly basis in a small group with the lab director, Dr. Tjaden, to discuss pertinent research topics, review relevant journal articles, and practice skills required to analyze acoustic speech samples collected for ongoing studies. This independent research opportunity is offered for two course credits under CDS 498TUT Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity. If you are interested in becoming involved in our scholarly community as an undergraduate student, please contact the UB MSD lab coordinator, Amanda Allen, via email: arallen@buffalo.edu.
