About this study

This was a dissertation study conducted by Caitlin M. Nye, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CHSE in the PhD program at the SUNY University at Buffalo School of Nursing. The purpose of this study was to expand on the limited evidence describing pre-licensure, undergraduate nursing faculty experiences with including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) health in curricula.

The goal was for this study to provide a foundation for future collaborative research with my fellow nurse educators to develop, test, and implement educational interventions for nurse educators to support expansion and suffusion of LGBTQ+ health content across the lifespan and across the curriculum in undergraduate nursing education.

This study was supported by the Mark Diamond Research Fund of the Graduate Student Association of the SUNY University at Buffalo as well as the NLN Nursing Education Scholarship Award of the National League for Nursing Foundation.
