Tschonghongei, Nelson C. Mbuk Documentary Grammar<\/a>. PhD Dissertation, University of Yaounde 1.
\nEN: This work seeks to present a thorough documentary grammar of Mbuk, an unclassified endangered Beboid speech variety spoken in the Bum sub-division in the Boyo Division of Northwest Cameroon. This study seeks to audio visually document Mbuk by recording the scenery and speech acts, transcribing and annotating metadata, analyzing word lists alongside various genres of discourse, and disseminating a corpora both on- and off-line, with the ultimate goal of preserving the near-extinct variety. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed through the lens of Basic Linguistic Theory, Functional Grammar, and Structuralism. This work produces a thorough documentation of Mbuk, including a description of its consonants, vowels, and tones. It also reveals a number of phonological and tonological processes that take place in this variety, and provides a description of the morphology and syntax of Mbuk. <\/p>\n

FR: Ce travail tente de remettre une grammaire documentaire minutieuse du Mbuk, une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 linguistique en danger d\u2019extinction, appartenant au groupe des langues b\u00e9bo\u00efdes. Elle est parl\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9partement de Boyo, dans l\u2019arrondissement de Bum, r\u00e9gion du Nord-Ouest du Cameroun. Cette \u00e9tude est finalis\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une documentation audio-visuelle de Mbuk incluantles donn\u00e9es relatives \u00e0 l\u2019environnement et aux actes de parole, transcriptions et an otations des donn\u00e9es linguistiques, m\u00e9tadonn\u00e9es compr\u00e9hensives, analyses des listes de mots ainsi que des divers genres de discours pour les garder, et diffuser en version physique ou num\u00e9rique, avec le but ultime de pr\u00e9server le Mbuk de l\u2019extinction. Les donn\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9es par l\u2019observation, les interviews, et les questionnaires, et analys\u00e9es par la linguistique documentaire, la th\u00e9orie de la linguistique fondamentale, la th\u00e9orie structuraliste et de l\u2019approche fonctionnelle qui en d\u00e9coule.
