As a researcher, she is particularly interested in Language Documentation. Asides academics, Claris serves as a Grant Writer for a Non-Governmental Organization called Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA) based in Cameroon. Her base in Linguistics also   enables her to work closely with the Communications team of the same organization. Claris\u2019 passion for Technology and experience within the civil society space has enabled her together with a team of two launch a start-up called SelaTech Africa, focused on providing tech-related services to civil society organizations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bafut Royal Register: Documenting and Comparing Communicative Competence in Bafut and its Diaspora<\/strong><br \/>\nThis study focuses on documenting the Bafut Royal Register, which refers to the lexical items used specifically to refer to the fon, his body parts or any objects associated with him. The study employs a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to investigate the linguistic variations and transformations within the Bafut Royal Register, comparing its usage in the traditional Bafut setting and among displaced Bafut natives in Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon.
