Floyd Summer Muckey was a nose and throat specialist. He received his medical degree from McGill University in 1883 and practiced medicine in St. Paul, Minnesota (1884) and Minneapolis, Minnesota (1885-1893). His specialty was in the area voice production and he conducted a number of research studies on the topic. He collaborated with William Hallock from Columbia University for some of his work. Muckey formed a company Muckey Patents Corporation and served as president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his biography in Who Was Who in America, he was said to be the first to give a working analysis of tone, to photograph manometric flame, and to make a photo of the vocal cords in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
