Following his graduation, he became the director of the Speech Clinic and Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Public Speaking at New York University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Borden was a popular speaker and sales trainer, as well as an author of books on selling and public speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1925 Borden and Alvin Clayton Busse published a textbook on speech correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.acsu.buffalo.edu\/~duchan\/new_history\/images\/borden_book.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Borden and Busse were among the 25 charter members of ASHA, a group that, in 1925, declared itself the American Speech Correction Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writings of and by Richard Borden, arranged chronologically<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Borden, R. &amp; Busse, A.
