He played a key role in the founding of the United States and in promoting a political atmosphere that led to the French Revolution. He wrote a popular pamphlet called&nbsp;<em>Common sense<\/em>&nbsp;in which he advocated colonial America\u2019s independence from England and another called&nbsp;<em>Rights of man<\/em>&nbsp;in which he argued for the cause of the French Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paine was born and raised in England.
