Users of the app are able to become familiar with the Safe-T risk assessment tool by applying the 5-step assessment to the case study examples provided.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The app provides a number of resources for working with clients that may be suicidal. A practitioner has the ability to learn the SAMSHA Safe-T suicide risk assessment tool.&nbsp; Case studies provide examples of how the assessment can be utilized and practitioners can access conversation starters for discussing suicidality with clients. In addition, the app provides materials on professional development and scholarly publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversation Starter provides the user with the ability to learn how to navigate a discussion with clients regarding the topic of suicide.&nbsp; The user is given examples of questions for assessing a client\u2019s risk level for suicidality and examples of statements to avoid when discussing suicide with a client.&nbsp; These discussion prompts are provided in both English and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainings and resources provide practitioners with training materials on professional education and ICD-9\/ICD-10 coding.&nbsp; Additionally, the app gives practitioners resources to provide their clients such as safety planning worksheets, crisis line phone numbers, coping skills printouts and SAMSHA\u2019s Stories of Hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practice Implications: <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Suicide Safe can be utilized by any provider working with clients who could be at-risk for suicide.\u00a0 The app provides tools that would assist social workers, psychologist, marriage and family therapist and educational personnel with resources to assist individuals from diverse demographics.\u00a0 With these tools, providers have the ability to assess suicidality and complete risk-assessments with their clients utilizing SAMHSA\u2019s evidence-based intervention.\u00a0 Providers can utilize this app for continued education credits, case studies of how to implement the \u201cSafe-T\u201d approach in clinical practice, mental health clinic locator for community referrals, crisis hotline resources, and downloadable safety plan worksheets for clients who are at risk.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
