Separate workspaces can be created for different classes or organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once in\nthe workspace, participants can then use the tools\nwithin Slack to communicate with each other. As posts are added, notifications are sent to the members\nof the workspace so that they are aware of what is\nhappening in the conversations.&nbsp; Users do\nhave the ability to control what posts they receive notifications for.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within a\nworkspace different channels can be created to\nseparate content into specific topics or projects.&nbsp; This will keep all of the posts related to\nthat channel together. The participants in each\nworkspace can share messages, documents, and images through these\nchannels.&nbsp; Participants can comment and\nprovide feedback and input upon the information that\nis being shared.&nbsp; Users also have the\noption to star posts or items to find them easily\nlater on. There are built in search functions to make\nfinding specific information easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another nice feature of Slack is that you can integrate other apps into your Slack workspace.\u00a0 You can integrate file sharing services, such as Google Drive or Box, to make sharing files easier.\u00a0 You can also integrate web conferencing tools, such as Zoom or Skype, so that you can initiate meetings through Slack.\u00a0 Other project management tools, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/happe\/2018\/08\/13\/trello\/\">Trello<\/a>, can also be integrated into Slack to help manage tasks and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practice Implications: <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Slack\nhas benefits for both educators and practitioners.&nbsp; Using Slack in education would allow faculty\nto increase communication and interaction between themselves and their\nstudents.&nbsp; Slack could be used in\ntraditional classes to allow students to ask questions\nwhile the faculty member is teaching, so that students who may not want to\nraise their hands could have an alternative way to pose questions.&nbsp; The channels could\nalso be used to track questions that students may have so that the instructor\ncan come back to them and answer them at a later\ntime.&nbsp; Slack could also be used to answer\nfrequently asked questions so that students are all receiving the same\ninformation for the class.&nbsp; Slack would\nalso be a powerful tool for students that were engaged in group assignments.&nbsp; A\nseparate channel could be set up for each group to share information and ask\nquestions.&nbsp; Slack channels could also be\ncreated so that the users could curate information about specific topics and\nshare those resources with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practitioners could use Slack to help coordinate group projects\nthey may be working on with other professionals.&nbsp;
