This symposium allows graduate students to present their related research (in a poster format) to their peers and CSEE departmental faculty and other department members who wish to attend. The poster competition will occur between 10:00 AM &#8211; 12:00 PM followed by the keynote talk given by Dr. Yongguang Huang, an invited speaker from Northwestern University, between 1:00 &#8211; 2:00 PM.<\/p>\n<p>The posters will be judged by a panel of CSEE faculty from all of the disciplines and our guest judge Professor Yongguang Huang. The criteria for selecting the winning posters will be: (i) the originality of the research, (ii) the impact on the field and (iii) organization, quality, and clarity of presentation.<\/p>\n<p>The basic requirements for participating are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>An\u00a0<strong>abstract<\/strong>\u00a0(up to 250-300 words) should be submitted through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/ttjkcshhnz1qi1yD2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign-up sheet<\/a>.\u00a0 Abstracts are due on\u00a0<strong>Monday, March 20th, 2017<\/strong><strong>\u00a0by\u00a011:59 pm\u00a0<\/strong>(you will be notified about the status of your abstract by March 23rd).<\/li>\n<li>The poster recommended size is limited to 40&#8221; x 32&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Posters should have a heading that includes the poster title, author(s) and engineering department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The competition will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner with $250, $150 and $50 prizes, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Please let me know if you have any questions.<\/p>\n<p>The link to the sign-up sheet:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/ttjkcshhnz1qi1yD2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/ttjkcshhnz1qi1yD2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The agenda for the events on Friday is <a href=\"http:\/\/gsa.buffalo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Agenda-Firday-CSEE.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">attached here<\/a>. In Summary, we will have Breakfast from\u00a0<strong>9 to 10 am<\/strong>\u00a0( 1 hour sooner than the usual\u00a0Coffee Break) in\u00a0<strong>Ketter 101<\/strong>. After that, the poster competition will take place from 10 am to 12 pm\u00a0followed by lunch and winners announcement at the<strong>\u00a0Davis Atrium<\/strong>.
