{"id":5376,"date":"2017-01-24T10:05:53","date_gmt":"2017-01-24T15:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gsa.buffalo.edu\/?p=5376"},"modified":"2017-01-24T10:05:53","modified_gmt":"2017-01-24T15:05:53","slug":"fulbright-scholarship-workshop-application-deadline-jan-30th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/2017\/01\/24\/fulbright-scholarship-workshop-application-deadline-jan-30th\/","title":{"rendered":"Fulbright Scholarship Workshop Application ~ Deadline Jan. 30th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Deadline:\u00a0 Jan 30: \u00a0Fulbright Scholarship Workshop Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Would you like to spend a year doing work or research abroad?\u00a0 The Fulbright provides funded opportunities for international research or study.\u00a0Students can apply for a Fulbright grant in more than 150 countries.*\u00a0 \u00a0Fulbright applications are due almost a full year before your dates of travel. UB\u2019s campus deadline will be in September 2017 so now\u2019s the time to start thinking about your application!<\/p>\n<p>To help you prepare a competitive application UB will be hosting a series of Fulbright workshops this spring.\u00a0 Students will learn more about Fulbright, how to select the appropriate affiliates and how to develop a strong proposal.\u00a0 These sessions will be hosted by the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships and UB\u2019s Fulbright Program Advisor, Dr. Colleen Culleton.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions will be held on Wednesdays: February 8<sup>th<\/sup>, February 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, March 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and March 29<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The sessions will be offered from either 9:00am-10:00am or 3:00pm-4:00pm on each of these days.\u00a0 Students are required to commit to all 4 sessions which includes beginning preparation of the personal statement and project proposal.\u00a0 To be considered for this program, students must complete the online application by 5pm EST on Monday, January 30<sup>th<\/sup>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/universityatbuffalo-wgtck.formstack.com\/forms\/fulbright_development_program_for_graduate_students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/universityatbuffalo-wgtck.formstack.com\/forms\/fulbright_development_program_for_graduate_students<\/a><\/p>\n<p>* To qualify for Fulbright U.S. student programs, applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a bachelor\u2019s degree by the time their Fulbright year starts, but not yet have a PhD.
