{"id":27490,"date":"2022-10-18T17:10:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-18T17:10:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/?p=27490"},"modified":"2022-10-18T17:10:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-18T17:10:05","slug":"snap-pre-screening-invitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/2022\/10\/18\/snap-pre-screening-invitation\/","title":{"rendered":"SNAP pre-screening invitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Health Promotion is hosting a table in the Student Union on 10\/19 from 11:30am to 2pm to help pre-screen students for eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.<\/p>\n<p>CASWNY, a community agency, will have a sign-up sheet asking for students\u2019 phone numbers and emails. They will then schedule a 10-15 phone call to conduct the SNAP eligibility prescreening (and can further assist with application process).<\/p>\n<p>If all other criteria are met, students could get an EBT card that can help pay for food, up to approx. $250\/month.<\/p>\n<p>While the Covid emergency is in effect, eligibility for college students has expanded slightly.<\/p>\n<p>Any student who is eligible for work study (whether completing hours or not) or who has \u201c0\u201d Estimated Family Contribution on the FAFSA form should apply.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: residential students must receive &lt;=50% of meals from a meal plan to be eligible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27491 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/137\/2022\/10\/Get-SNAP.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"621\" height=\"806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/137\/2022\/10\/Get-SNAP.png 621w, https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/137\/2022\/10\/Get-SNAP-231x300.png 231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Health Promotion is hosting a table in the Student Union on 10\/19 from 11:30am to 2pm to help pre-screen students for eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
