{"id":1019,"date":"2014-01-23T16:00:27","date_gmt":"2014-01-23T21:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gsa.buffalo.edu\/?p=1019"},"modified":"2014-01-23T16:00:27","modified_gmt":"2014-01-23T21:00:27","slug":"romance-studies-journal-call-for-papers-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/gsa\/2014\/01\/23\/romance-studies-journal-call-for-papers-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Romance Studies Journal ~ Call for Papers Extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear all,<\/p>\n<p>We have extended our call for papers deadline for our annual Journal on Romance Studies until February 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>This volume of\u00a0<i>Graduate<\/i>\u00a0<i>Romance Studies Journal<\/i>\u00a0proposes to analyze the multifarious aspects of bridges: their practical uses in the world; how literature and linguistics approach its various forms and functions; \u201cthe bridge\u201d as a structure as well as the cultural, political, physical, and\/or linguistic ramifications produced by said constructs; as a connection of multiple entities. Could a possible disconnect occur as a result of this connector? What can be said of the \u201cgap\u201d \u2013 the \u201cthird space\u201d \u2013 that the bridge bypasses, and what possibility does it offer us to redefine and reshape our own perspectives? We invite proposals that address these and other questions related to bridges. Possible topics include:<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Transatlantic Crossing\/Sharing<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Borders and Frontiers<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Marginalization, Displacement, Migration<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Globalization and Transnationalism<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Gender, its limits and transformations<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Subterranean and Clandestine Bridges<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Imaginary Bridges<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Bridges as Transitions\/Transpositions<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Languages in contact<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0Bridging through bilingualism<\/p>\n<p>Please submit proposals (250-300 word abstracts) in MS Word or PDF files to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:UBRomance@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UBRomance@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0by February 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Please send proposals of 250-300 words to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:UBRomance@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UBRomance@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0by February 1, 2014. Papers must be written in English and must not exceed 6,000 words (including notes and bibliography).
