Blair’s longstanding career began with her comedic roles in pop culture classics in the early 2000s. Blair has worked with an array of acclaimed directors including Guillermo del Toro and Todd Solodnz\, to name a few. Additionally\, Blair was named one of Time Magazine’s “People of The Year” in 2017 as one of their Silence Breakers. \nBlair released her first memoir titled “Mean Baby” in which she tells the captivating story about growing up and finding her truth. Over the course of the beautiful and\, at times\, devastating memoir\, she lays bare her addiction to alcohol\, her devotion to her brilliant and complicated mother\, and the moments she flirted with death. There is brutal violence\, passionate love\, true friendship\, the gift of motherhood\, and\, finally\, the surprising salvation of a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. “Mean Baby” hit stands in May 2022. \nBlair can be seen as the subject of the documentary\, “Introducing\, Selma Blair\,” which premiered to rave reviews at the 2021 SXSW Festival\, where the feature won the Special Jury Recognition for Exceptional Intimacy in Storytelling. The film also won the New York Women in Film & Television Documentary Award at the Hamptons Film Festival and received three Critics Choice Documentary Award nominations\, including Best Documentary Feature. The documentary\, which reveals Blair’s intimate and raw journey with multiple sclerosis\, opened in theaters in fall 2021. It was subsequently released on Discovery+ and is currently streaming on the platform. \nPreviously\, Blair starred in the comedy/horror thriller “Mom and Dad\,” alongside Nicolas Cage. The film\, which follows a teenage girl and her younger brother as they must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origin causes parents to turn violently on their own kids. The film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and later screened at the 2017 Sitges Film Festival and the 2017 Molins Film Festival\, where it was nominated for the Jury Prize for Best Film and the Audience Award for Best Films. VARIETY critic Dennis Harvey wrote “She [Blair] covers a gamut from bittersweet sympathy to farce to monstrousness\, running amok like a cat on piano keys\, yet hitting each note perfectly. “Mom & Dad” isn’t the kind of movie they give acting awards to — but in a just world\, it would be.” \nOn television\, Blair was seen co-starring as Kris Jenner in FX’s “The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” for director Ryan Murphy. \nBlair also starred in Todd Solodnz’s “Dark Horse” in 2011 as Miranda (formerly Vi)\, alongside Christopher Walken and Mia Farrow. The film debuted at the Venice Film Festival and was later released by Virgil Films & Entertainment. Blair also starred in Todd Solodnz’s “Storytelling” in 2001. \nIn 2008\, Blair reprised her role as Liz Sherman in Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army\,” after starring in the original “Hellboy” in 2004 (also directed by del Toro). \nBlair is perhaps best known for her scene-stealing performance as Vivian Kensington in MGM’s hit romantic comedy “Legally Blonde\,” alongside Reese Witherspoon. The film was nominated in 2002 for a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. \nIn 1999\, Blair played the role of Cecile Caldwell in “Cruel Intentions\,” alongside Reese Witherspoon\, Sarah Michelle Gellar\, and Ryan Phillippe. Columbia Pictures released the film\, which was directed by Roger Kumble. \nOther film credits include the YA film “After” (2019) and its sequel\, “After We Collided” (2020)\, based on the popular romance novels of the same name. Ifill\, the second woman to ever lead LDF\, provided visionary and transformational leadership during one of the most consequential and intense moments in our nation’s history. She began her career as a fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union\, before joining the staff of the LDF as an assistant counsel in 1988\, where she litigated voting rights cases for five years. \nFor over 20 years\, Ifill taught civil procedure and constitutional law to thousands of law students\, and pioneered a series of law clinics\, including one of the earliest law clinics in the country\, focused on challenging legal barriers to the reentry of ex-offenders at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore. Ifill is also a prolific scholar who has published academic articles in leading law journals\, and op-eds and commentaries in leading newspapers. Her 2007 book\, “On the Courthouse Lawn: Confronting the Legacy of Lynching in the 21st Century\,” was highly acclaimed\, and is credited with laying the foundation for contemporary conversations about lynching and reconciliation. \nIn 2013\, Ifill was invited back to the Legal Defense Fund – this time to lead the organization as its 7th director-counsel. In that role\, Ifill increased the visibility and engagement of the organization in litigating cutting-edge and urgent civil rights issues and elevating the organization’s decades-long leadership fighting voter suppression\, inequity in education and racial discrimination in the criminal justice system. At critical moments during national political and civil rights crises\, Ifill’s voice and vision have powerfully influenced our national dialogue. Ifill is a frequent public commentator on racial justice issues\, known for her fact-based\, richly contextualized analysis of complex racial issues. She is a trusted and valued advisor to civic and community leaders\, national civil rights colleagues\, and business leaders. \nAmong many honors\, Ifill is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees\, and was recently named one of TIME Magazine’s Women of the Year. She was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2021\, one of Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year in 2020\, honored with a 2021 Spirit of Excellence Award by the American Bar Association\, and named Attorney of the Year by The American Lawyer in 2020. In 2022\, Ifill will receive the prestigious Brandeis Medal\, named for Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Previously\, she served as U.S. ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic (2005-2008) and the Republic of Armenia (2008-2011). She retired from the Foreign Service in 2020 and is currently a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a non-resident fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. \nBorn into a family that survived both Soviet and Nazi terror before emigrating to the U.S.\, Yovanovitch rose to the top of her profession in the crucible of the former USSR. Following early assignments in Moscow\, London\, Ottawa and Mogadishu\, she served as deputy director of the Russia desk and then\, as a career member of the Senior Foreign Service\, she was named deputy chief in Ukraine. Within the Department of State\, Yovanovitch has worked on the Russia desk\, the Office of European Security Affairs and the Operations Center.  She also served as the dean of the School of Language Studies at the Foreign Service Institute\, U.S. Department of State and as the deputy commandant and international advisor at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy\, National Defense University. \nYovanovitch earned the Senior Foreign Service Performance Award eight times and the State Department’s Superior Honor Award on nine occasions. She is the recipient of two Presidential Distinguished Service Awards and the Secretary’s Diplomacy in Human Rights Award. Following her retirement\, Yovanovitch received the Trainor Award for Excellence in the Conduct of Diplomacy from Georgetown University\, the inaugural Richard G. Lugar Award from Indiana University\, the 2020 PEN/Benenson Courage Award from Pen/America\, the Morgenthau Award from the Armenian Assembly of America\, the American Spirit Award for Distinguished Public Service from the Common Good\, and the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government. \nIn early 2022\, Yovanovitch’s memoir\, “Lessons From The Edge\,” was an instant New York Times best-seller. Since his feature film debut playing the doctor in “Knocked Up” in 2007\, Jeong has gone on to create memorable roles on both TV and film. \nJeong can currently be seen as a panelist on “The Masked Singer\,” the hit show that received an Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Competition Program in 2020. Jeong is also the host and executive producer of “I Can See Your Voice\,” as well as a panelist on “The Masked Dancer.” We’re calling Wednesday “Kensday.” The actor can recently be seen in Mike Meyers’ Netflix limited series “The Pentaverate” alongside Meyers\, Keegan-Michael Key\, Debi Mazar\, Richard McCabe\, Lydia West and Jennifer Saunders. The comedy series is about a secret society that has been working to control world events since 1347. Jeong can also recently be seen in Will Arnett’s “Murderville\,” Netflix’s new series where Arnett and his celebrity guests improvise their way through a murder investigation without a script. \nUp next\, Jeong will be seen in AppleTV+’s “The Afterparty” alongside Elizabeth Perkins\, Zach Woods\, Paul Walter Hauser\, Poppy Liu\, Anna Konkle\, Jack Whitehall and Vivian Wu\, as well as returning stars Tiffany Haddish\, Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao. Season 2 will revolve around a murder at a wedding\, with Richardson and Chao taking on lead duties solving the crime\, and  Haddish back as Detective Danner. \nPrior to headlining “Kensday” on FOX\, Jeong starred on ABC’s “Dr. Ken\,” where he was the creator\, writer and executive producer. He also was a series regular on the critically acclaimed NBC show “Community” from 2009-2015\, which won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Series in 2012. In 2015\, Jeong directed an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary “Student Athlete\,” and he also starred in and produced the Sundance award-winning film “Advantageous” which received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. \nIn addition to his work on “Dr. Ken” and “Community\,” the actor can be seen on TV hits such as “The Office\,” “Entourage” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” In 2008\, Jeong had his first major film role opposite Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott as the villain in David Wain’s “Role Models.” That same year he also appeared in the cult comedy hits “Pineapple Express” and “Step Brothers.” In May of 2009\, Jeong appeared as the Asian-mobster “Mr. Chow” in the sleeper-hit comedy “The Hangover” also starring Bradley Cooper\, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis\, which earned Jeong an MTV Movie Award in 2010\, and the film itself won The Golden Globe for Best Comedy/Musical and Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy in 2010. Jeong reprised his iconic role in “The Hangover III.” His other film credits include “Crazy Rich Asians\,” “Pineapple Express\,” “Step Brothers\,“ “Ride Along 2\,” “Transformers: Dark of the Moon\,” “Couples Retreat\,” “Goosebumps 2” and “Tom & Jerry” among a steady list of roles. \nJeong has lent his voice to a plethora of animated films and was recently heard in Netflix’s Oscar- nominated “Over the Moon\,” Warner Brothers’ “Scoob\,” and Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp.” Jeong’s other voice over credits include “The Casagrandes\,” “Wonder Park” and “My Little Pony\,” among a lengthy list. \nIn February 2019\, Jeong returned to his stand-up roots for his first-ever hit Netflix comedy special\, “Ken Jeong: You Complete Me\, Ho\,” which earned him a People’s Choice nomination for The Comedy Act of 2019. Filmed at The Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena\, California\, where Jeong first got his start in comedy\, the special reflects on how he went from being a doctor to a comedy superstar. He opens up about how his wife’s courageous battle with breast cancer led to him starring in one of the biggest comedy franchises of all time\, “The Hangover\,” and more recently\, “Crazy Rich Asians.” \nJeong’s career path started off on a different course. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University and went on to get his medical degree at the University of North Carolina. Jeong completed his internal medicine residency in New Orleans all the while developing his comedy. In 1995\, Jeong won the Big Easy Laff Off. The competition\, which was judged by former NBC President Brandon Tartikoff and Improv founder Budd Friedman\, turned out to be his big break as Tartikoff and Friedman urged Jeong to head to Los Angeles. \nJeong dedicates his spare time to volunteering with Stand Up 2 Cancer\, which is a cause very close to his heart. Jeong has also been very outspoken on the rise in racism and hate crimes against the AAPI community in the last year. He is using his platform to call attention to these issues and advocate for change in hopes of having a lasting impact. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and twin daughters.

Corwin has been awarded with three Emmys and the top broadcast industry awards for his work on television. \nHis very first TV series was the wildly successful “Going Wild with Jeff Corwin” on Disney Channel. His Animal Planet series “The Jeff Corwin Experience” was a global sensation. Corwin is also the creator and co-presenter of CNN’s groundbreaking documentary “Planet in Peril\,” hosted alongside Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta. She’s also won a Peabody\, two George Polk awards\, and the National Magazine Award three times. \nNikole Hannah-Jones covers racial injustice for The New York Times Magazine\, and has spent years chronicling the way official policy has created—and maintains—racial segregation in housing and schools. Her deeply personal reports on the Black experience in America offer a compelling case for greater equity.  Hannah-Jones is the creator and lead writer of the New York Times’ major multimedia initiative\, “The 1619 Project.” Named for the year the first enslaved Africans arrived in America\, the project features an ongoing series of essays and art on the relationship between slavery and everything from social infrastructure and segregation\, to music and sugar—all by Black American authors\, activists\, journalists and more. Hannah-Jones wrote the project’s introductory essay\, which ran under the powerful headline “Our Democracy’s Founding Ideals Were False When They Were Written. Black Americans Have Fought to Make Them True.” The essay earned Hannah-Jones her first Pulitzer Prize\, for commentary. Random House has also announced it will be adapting the project into a graphic novel and four publications for young readers\, while also releasing an extended version of the original publication\, including more essays\, fiction\, and poetry. Two of these\, “The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story” and “Born On The Water” will be released in November 2021. \nHannah-Jones has written extensively on the history of racism\, school resegregation\, and the disarray of hundreds of desegregation orders\, as well as the decades-long failure of the federal government to enforce the landmark 1968 Fair Housing Act. She is currently writing a book on school segregation called “The Problem We All Live With\,” to be published on the One World imprint of Penguin/Random House. Her piece “Worlds Apart” in The New York Times Magazine won the National Magazine Award for “journalism that illuminates issues of national importance” as well as the Hillman Prize for Magazine Journalism. In 2016\, she was awarded a Peabody Award and George Polk Award for radio reporting for her “This American Life” story\, “The Problem We All Live With.” She was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists\, and was also named to 2019’s The Root 100 as well as Essence’s Woke 100. DESCRIPTION:Many of us associate the concept of self-care with elements of consumerism (e.g.\, retail therapy) but we don’t always have a good sense of our own relationship with money and where it all started. Our relationship with money is complex\, endures a lifetime\, and it can lead to behaviors that do not always serve us well. \nBased on decades of research and common sense principles\, this talk explores common traps many of us fall into that get in the way of achieving real financial security and stability. It will reframe the idea of what wealth actually is and also identify some of the unique challenges for women in regard to money through the lifespan. We will also highlight important on-campus resources that promote professional development\, financial well-being\, and self-care for UB’s graduate students. DESCRIPTION:For many years now\, students of the various graduate programs have had free access to use UB Recreation facilities. That means no fee on your student bill and/or additional fee to utilize Alumni Arena and Clark Hall. Beginning August 30\, 2021\, graduate students will no longer have free access to UB Recreation. A graduate student membership would need to be purchased in order to enter. This fee cannot and will not be applied to your student bill but can be purchased through our website. Your UBID will act as your permit\, so when you purchase your membership on the website\, we will activate your UBID for the corresponding dates. Below you will find the Graduate Student Recreation Membership Fee as well as all the facilities you will have access to. Due to COVID-19\, facilities are restricted\, but we are hopeful to open more space Fall 2021. For the last 20 years\, Cullors has been on the frontlines of criminal justice reform and led Reform LA Jails’ “Yes on R” campaign\, a ballot initiative that passed by a 71% landslide victory in March 2020. \nCullors co-founded the global Black Lives Matter movement in 2013 after sparking the viral Twitter hashtag. The movement has since expanded into an international organization with dozens of chapters around the world campaigning against anti-black racism. In January 2016\, Cullors published her memoir\, “When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir\,” which became an instant New York Times bestseller. A young adult edition of the memoir is set to be published in September 2020. Cullors’ work for Black Lives Matter recently received recognition in TIME magazine’s 2020 100 Women of the Year project. \nFrom 2016 to 2018 Cullors worked as a senior fellow at MomsRising where she worked on ground breaking federal legislation that will change the outcomes of maternal mortality for women\, especially Black women. She also executive produced two podcasts with Rewire and developed a booklet labeled “c-section chronicles.” \nAs an artist\, Cullors has directed and produced world renowned theater\, performance pieces and docu-series. Her work has been on networks like BET and Blackpills as well as theaters and galleries across the world. Most recently she conducted her first solo show titled: “Respite\, Reprieve and Healing: An Evening of Cleansing.” Her work focuses on trauma\, healing and resilience. \nCullors developed and is currently the faculty director of a new Social and Environmental Arts Practice MFA program at Arizona’s Prescott College. The program is the first of its kind in the nation to focus a curriculum on the intersection of art\, social justice and community organizing. \nCullors is the recipient of the Stanton Fellowship from the Durfee Foundation. She has held residencies at The 24th Street Theater and Kalamazoo College. Cullors has exhibited widely across Los Angeles and the United States\, from traditional arts institutions to public spaces. Five boys—four black and one Latino—were tried and convicted of the crime in a frenzied case that rocked the city. They became known collectively as the Central Park Five. \nTheir convictions were vacated in 2002 after spending between seven and thirteen years of their lives behind bars. The unidentified DNA in the Central Park jogger case\, unlinked to any of the five\, had finally met its owner\, a convicted murderer and serial rapist who confessed. The convictions of the boys\, now men\, were overturned and they were exonerated. One of those boys\, Yusef Salaam\, was just 15 years old when his life was upended and changed forever. \nSince his release\, Salaam has committed himself to advocating and educating people on the issues of false confessions\, police brutality and misconduct\, press ethics and bias\, race and law\, and the disparities in America’s criminal justice system. In 2013\, Ken and Sarah Burns and David McMahon released the documentary “The Central Park Five\,” which told of this travesty from the perspective of Salaam and his cohorts. \nIn 2014\, the Central Park Five received a multi-million dollar settlement from the city of New York for its grievous injustice against them. Salaam was awarded an honorary doctorate that same year and received the President’s Life Time Achievement Award in 2016 from President Barack Obama. \nIn 2018\, he was appointed to the board of the Innocence Project. In May 2019\, Netflix released the limited series titled “When They See Us” based on the true story of Salaam and the other members of the Central Park Five. The series was created and directed by Ava DuVernay; executive producers included Oprah Winfrey and Robert De Niro.
