SUMMARY:Chemistry Graduate Student Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 1983\, the Graduate Student Symposium (GSS) has been organized entirely by the graduate students within the Department of Chemistry at UB. Since that time\, the GSS has grown into an established and well-known annual symposium hosting 80 to 120 graduate students from the United States and Canada. This event offers graduate students a forum to present their research to an audience of their peers and provides unique networking opportunities. The symposium consists of posters and presentations given by attending graduate students; highlighted by three keynote speakers who are prominent in their respective fields. We are also expanding the event this year to undergraduates in the WNY area in order to give these students another opportunity to see graduate research and present their own new and exciting science to a welcoming audience. This also provides an opportunity for these students to expand their CVs as they move on to higher education.
