SUMMARY:Milton Plesur Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Graduate History Association (GHA) has hosted the Milton Plesur Conference for nearly three decades. The Plesur Conference has provided an opportunity for M.A and Ph.D. students from across the United States and Canada to present original research from a variety of fields. Fields represented include\, but are not limited to\, History\, Classics\, Anthropology\, Comparative Literature\, and Area Studies. The GHA is proud to continue the tradition of supporting student research in a collegiate forum. This year is the 27th Annual Milton Plesur Conference\, organized around a central theme of: “Rediscovering Oceanus: 21st Century Approaches to the Atlantic World.” We are pleased to welcome Dr. Robert Deal\, Associate Professor of History and Director of Graduate Studies at Marshall University to open the conference with a keynote address on Friday. Following the address\, participants are invited to dinner. Saturday will begin with a continental breakfast followed by two panels in the morning\, a break for lunch\, two panels in the afternoon\, a short break followed by a final panel session.

SUMMARY:Atelier Week
DESCRIPTION:Atelier Week is the annual open-house celebration of work produced by UB’s School of Architecture and Planning.  Each day of the week is a different event that serves to showcase student and faculty work.  These events increase camaraderie between students and faculty\, as well as between the School and the community at large. \nMonday: Opening Ceremony/ Ice Cream Social in Hayes Hall\nTuesday: Pecha Kucha Event (slide presentations from students and faculty) in Hayes Hall\nWednesday: Department Speaker Series (event supports scheduled school lecture) in Hayes Hall\nThursday: Dodgeball Tournament (open and free team registration) in Clark Hall\nFriday: Beaux Arts Ball (School formal and mixer event) location TBD
