SUMMARY:Poulet aux Prunes ~ French Connection Movie Night
DESCRIPTION:TFC Movie Night: Poulet aux Prunes (2011)\, 930 Clemens\, Thursday May 8th at 8:15pm. \nBonjour à tous\, \nThe French Connection is pleased to invite you to our last movie of the semester\, Poulet aux prunes. This movie is the adaptation of a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi (of Persepolis\, another of her graphic novels adapted into an animated film). Poulet aux prunes tells the story of Ali\, a violonist\, who falls in love with Irane. Irane’s father forbids the marraige as he thinks Ali will never be able to provide for his daughter as an artist. Consequently\, Ali does everything in his power to become a renowned violonist but eventually ends up marrying another woman. As their relationship with his family deteriorates\, his wife destroys Ali’s violin. Not able to play his favorite instrument\, Ali decides to lay in bed\, waiting for death. By doing so\, he is submerged with visions of his past… \n As usual\, popcorn and refreshments will be served before the movie. Please refer to the poster for more information and check out the trailer!
