DESCRIPTION:We have invited Dr. Richard Chang to speak at UB.  He is the founding father of SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation)\, current CEO and Chairman of ShinerayTek Co. (Shanghai\, China)\, the “Father of Semiconductor in China”\, the recipient of UB International Extraordinary Alumni Award. Dr. Richard Chang will be visiting UB\, key labs in the School of Engineering\, the Department of Electrical Engineering\, and giving a lecture to UB graduate students. His extraordinary leadership and persistent entrepreneurship and unique experience in industry can hugely inspire our graduate students in economics\, management\, and engineering. Possible programs include meeting faculty and students\, delivering a lecture on topics related to semiconductors\, and visiting the new cleanroom in the EE department\, as well as visiting other state-of-the-art laboratories at UB.  Lecture topic (tentative): the validity of the Moore’s Law and what challenges we are facing

SUMMARY:An Iliad ~ Road Less Traveled Productions
DESCRIPTION:Tickets on sale Feb. 17th at the SBI Ticket Office (221 Student Union) for $5 each. 2 per UB ID.\nThe clash of swords and shields; the bonds of friendship\, honor\, and undying love; the machinations of gods and goddesses\, meddling in the bloody affairs of mere mortals. An Iliad is an evocation of all of this\, as Homer himself materializes – ancient yet timeless\, both weary and tireless – to share his sweeping account of humanity’s unshakeable attraction to violence\, chaos\, and self-destruction. This muscular production spotlights a tour de force performance by RLTP Ensemble member Matt Witten\, as he makes each blow of this legendary conflict seem both vivid and relevant.
