NASA Selects Earth Dynamics Geodetic Explorer (EDGE) Mission<\/h2>\n

\n NASA has officially selected the EDGE mission proposal for continued development as part of its Earth System
\n Explorers (ESE) program.
\n Dr. Beata Csatho serves as the Land Ice Products Co-Lead<\/strong>, responsible for overseeing
\n elevation change products over glaciers and ice sheets.
\n EDGE will be the world’s first global satellite imaging laser altimeter system. The mission is subject to a
\n confirmation review in 2027, with a launch expected no earlier than 2030.\n <\/p>\n

RS Lab at the 2025 AGU Fall Meeting<\/h2>\n

\n RS Lab PhD students Hui Gao<\/strong> and Mohammad Salmani<\/strong> participated and
\n presented two posters each, focusing on Greenland mass balance and past ice extents at the 2025 American
\n Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n

Major Grant Supports Ice Sheet Model Intercomparison Project (ISMIP7)<\/h2>\n

\n The University at Buffalo has received $2.1 million<\/strong> from the Heising-Simons Foundation to
\n support ISMIP7 (Ice Sheet Model Intercomparison Project for CMIP7).
\n Dr. Beata Csatho co-leads the ISMIP7 Observational Focus Group<\/strong>, which provides the
\n satellite-derived datasets needed to calibrate and validate the 37+ international ice sheet models
\n used to project sea-level rise contributions from the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets through 2300.\n <\/p>\n
