Nicole Koefler, M.A.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nicole is in her fourth year of the Ph.D. program in Social Psychology at the University at Buffalo. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Theology & Ethics from the Templeton Honors College at Eastern University. Nicole\u2019s research interests include understanding how individuals seek connection with others and fulfill the fundamental need to belong, and how people make sense of the world as safe and\/or threatening. In her leisure time, she enjoys perusing used-book stores, exploring Buffalo, and increasing her collection of house plants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esther Hanbyeol Lee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Esther is in her fourth year of the Ph.D. program in Social Psychology at the University at Buffalo. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Her research focuses on how various cues in the environment shape impressions of the environment, and the downstream consequences of the impressions on motivation to engage. In her free time, Esther likes to spend time with her friends, work out, and watch movies with some beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabby Pascuzzi, M.A. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gabby Pascuzzi is a fourth-year PhD student in University at Buffalo SUNY\u2019s Social-Personality Psychology program. Her research interests broadly concern close relationships and how self-concept, identity, and other individual differences may impact relationships. Additionally, she is interested in parasocial relationships and other non-traditional means of belonging. In her free time, Gabby can be found watching too much reality TV, playing board games and video games, and exploring new places to go hiking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veronica Schneider, PhD. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vee’s research interests are, broadly, related to non-traditional means of belonging, particularly parasocial relationships and engaging with stories (such as watching TV or reading books). She is interested in the development and effects of parasocial relationships with fictional characters and celebrities and the effects of the stories that people enjoy in their everyday lives. Additionally, she is interested in self-expansion or how the self changes to incorporate new attributes into one’s self-concept, especially when this occurs non-relationally or during narrative engagement.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cassie VanDamme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cassie is in her second year in the Social Psychology PhD at SUNY at Buffalo. her main interests are in LGBTQ identity, specifically stigma (external and internal) and interpersonal relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sydney Varnak<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sydney is in her first year of the Ph.D. program in Social Psychology at the University at Buffalo. Sydney Varnak is a graduate of Purdue University, where she earned a degree in Psychological Sciences. She gained recognition for her undergraduate research on relationship aggression and was awarded the Midwest Psychological Association’s Research Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
