Carousell Malaysia Entry Strategy

Description: As part of UB’s Singapore BS in Business Administration program at Singapore Institute of Management Pte Ltd (SIM), students in two sections of MGO 403, Fundamentals of Strategic Management, are working with one of the three founders of Carousell. A student who took this School of Management undergraduate capstone course in 2014, and has since graduated, works at Carousell. This former student is helping coordinate the project between the students in the two current classes, and the founders and managers of Carousell. The students in both sections of MGO 403 are developing a business plan for the introduction and expansion of the Carousell application into Malaysia. The students are also developing a growth marketing plan for the expansion of the Carousell application in Singapore. This is a project-based learning activity that provides the students with real-life, authentic experiences. The students are applying what they have learned in their degree program, and what they are learning in their MGO 403 classes, to a real local business, working with the leadership in this business.
