{"id":754,"date":"2019-04-03T04:00:41","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T04:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gsa.buffalo.edu\/eeri\/?post_type=tribe_events&amp;p=754"},"modified":"2019-04-03T04:00:41","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T04:00:41","slug":"3rd-annual-symposium","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/ubwp.buffalo.edu\/eeri\/event\/3rd-annual-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"3rd Annual Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Student Chapter (UB-EERI) is pleased to announce the hosting of our 3rd Annual Earthquake Engineering Symposium on the 5th of April 2019, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The keynote presentation will be given by\u00a0<strong>Dr. John Van De Lindt<\/strong>, George T. Abell Professor in Infrastructure in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University. His research includes seismic reliability analysis, earthquake engineering, and structural dynamics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a Student Research Competition where students are welcomed to present research on topics related to Earthquake Engineering. Interested students are requested to submit their abstracts within 100 words to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:cmurillo@buffalo.edu\">cmurillo@buffalo.edu<\/a>. There are limited spots available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other activities include a tour of the UB Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL). Lunch will be provided to those attending the Symposium. A detailed itinerary will be sent out at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We welcome you to learn about current student research and hear from Dr. Van De Lindt.
