Lowes<\/strong>, William M. and Marilyn M. Conner Professor and Civil Engineering Department Chair at the University of Washington. Her recent research focuses on developing tools for modeling non-linear response of structural systems subjected to severe loading.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>There will also be a <strong>Student Research Presentation Competition<\/strong> where students from your school are welcomed to present research on topics related to Earthquake Engineering. Interested students are requested to submit their abstracts within 100 words to <a href=\"mailto:cmurillo@buffalo.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cmurillo@buffalo.edu<\/a> by <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">March 20, 2018<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Other activities include a tour of the UB Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL). Breakfast and lunch will be provided. A detailed itinerary will be sent out at a later date.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We welcome you to enjoy a day at UB, learn about current student research and hear from Dr. Lowes.
