Engagement and Governance

We study engagement methods and principles. Specifically, we implement our CREATE framework (C = Culture, R = Respect, E = Education, A = Advancement, T = Trust, E = Expertise) for engagement, which:

  • Considers the scientific cultures of the different investigators,
  • Demonstrates respect via appropriate compensation and co-leadership,
  • Facilitates education via sharing knowledge and co-learning,
  • Offers advancement through use-inspired research,
  • Illustrates trust through open communication and maintenance of privacy, confidentiality, and security,
  • Exemplifies expertise via inter- and multi-disciplinary collaborations between the different investigators and the project’s stakeholders.
CREATE Framework

The engagement of study researchers, therefore, is done within the CREATE framework, that calls for advancing their respective scientific fields indicated in the figure below. The figure displays the different scientific fields needed to converge to provide useful solutions to the problems we address.

Research disciplines involved in research.

The study governance is conducted by the research team. The figure below displays the management structure that consists of a Steering Committee and two standing committees, Scientific Community Partner and Dissemination/Publication/Implementation. Each committee has different responsibilities that refer to project management, publication and dissemination of results, as well as ensuring that the investigation remains patient-centered.

Hierarchical organization of committees.
