
We have a robust team of undergraduate and graduate students who assist with data collection, processing, transcription, and analysis. At CADL, we believe that every team member brings a unique perspective and value to the work we do. As a member of our team, you can expect to:
- Learn what it means to do research in a lab environment
- Better understand the types of people who use AAC devices
- Develop a deep knowledge of various devices and access methods
- Gain exposure to how grants are managed
- Improve your computer skills
- Get pushed out of your comfort zone in a supportive, inclusive environment
- Have direct access to all members our our team, including our director
- Share your ideas openly in biweekly team meetings
- Be paired up with an existing student as a mentor for your first semester
- Learn how to transcribe with the transcription software, ELAN
- Have a flexible working schedule
- Get course credit for your work (it is on the student to get the forms filled out)
- Be paid hourly for your time
- Have the opportunity to pursue an independent study or masters thesis
- Make friends and fully experience the welcoming culture of our lab
