Project Converse

The overall goal of the project is to develop a set of effective conversational technologies and to successfully transfer these innovations into the AAC technology market, incorporating AI.

The Engelke Family Foundation has awarded generous funding across five years for Project Converse to Jeff Higginbotham (PI) of the Communication and Assistive Device Laboratory, Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences, University at Buffalo and Karen Erickson (co-PI) and Lori Geist (co-PI) of the Center for Literacy & Disability Studies, Department of Allied Health Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
