How does a program designed originally for travel and experiences outside of the classroom survive a pandemic? That question became a reality for the UB School of Management\u2019s Global Programs Office<\/a> last Spring. The answer came through hard work, adaptation and creative design from the team at Global Programs. On the latest episode of the Manage-A-Bull podcast, host Anders T. Rosen speaks with Professor Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah, faculty director of Global Programs, graduate assistant Janelle Fore, and incoming graduate assistant Andrew Hoke. Their conversation touched upon Global Programs\u2019 ability to pivot in the face of the pandemic, the myriad opportunities for students to develop a global mindset and why the future is only getting brighter for this program that has already impacted more than 450 students in only three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Janelle Fore
<\/em>Janelle Fore is the Graduate Assistant for Global Programs and participated in multiple programs, including Costa Rica, Ghana, Europe, and India (virtually)). She loves to learn about different cultures to broaden her perspectives. She recently founded a startup with a couple of friends called \u201cReal Talk,\u201d a platform designed to encourage the discussion of social issues in the educational curriculum. Andrew Hoke
<\/em>Andrew Hoke is a first year MBA focusing on health care management and the incoming GA for Global Programs. Prior to joining the MBA program, he completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at UB, worked as a paraprofessional for four years with Campus Living and spent a year in the Army. He is currently in the Reserves as a Radiology Specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah<\/em>
Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah, PhD is a clinical associate professor in the Organization and Human Resources Department at the University at Buffalo School of Management. As faculty director of Global Programs since 2018, she identifies, designs and implements high-impact programs that develop students\u2019 global and diversity mindset. She engages partners and alumni in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the U.S., fulfilling the school\u2019s commitment to training global citizens with diverse perspectives and experiences. She also teaches the school\u2019s featured Undergraduate Honors Program. Prior to her current role, she served as the assistant faculty director of the award-winning LeaderCORE program for UB MBA students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
