Depending on your child’s age, we use different methods to learn about how they learn<\/em>. Most of our studies involve children sitting on their parent’s lap while viewing some pictures or videos on a screen or hearing different types of sounds (such as words or sentences). We use a variety of techniques to record when and where your child is looking to help us understand what they are interested in – and by proxy, what they may know! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Other studies involve having your child play with some toys in the lab, either with you (the parent or caregiver) or an experimenter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Before any study, a member of our research team will sit and explain all components of the study to you, and we’ll give you and your child(ren) time to get used to the space and ask any questions you may have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Research takes a long time, but we will always post our final products on our Publications page<\/a>, and we’ll share interim findings in our Newsletter, which is automatically sent to all participating families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n We will keep this space updated with new and upcoming study opportunities.
